License Grant

When you purchase Local Transcriber, you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive license to install and use the software on your personal Mac. This license is for your personal use only.

• One license = one person using the app on their own devices
• You may not rent, lease, sell, or transfer your license to others
• You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• You may not use this software for commercial purposes without a separate commercial license

One-Time Purchase

Local Transcriber is a one-time purchase of $20. There are no recurring subscription fees, no monthly bills, and no surprise price increases. Once purchased, the license is yours forever.

Free updates are provided for all future versions during the lifetime of the product.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Local Transcriber is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

• The software will be error-free or bug-free
• The software will meet all your requirements
• Transcripts will be 100% accurate
• The software will be compatible with all future macOS versions

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Phase 2 Labs LLC (the company behind Local Transcriber) shall not be liable for:

• Any damages arising from use or inability to use the software
• Loss of data, transcripts, or files
• Business interruption or lost profits
• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

This applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Two-Party Consent & Recording Laws

Important Legal Notice: Depending on where you live, recording conversations may require consent from all parties.

Two-party consent states: California, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Hawaii require all participants in a call or conversation to consent before recording.

Your responsibility: It is your sole responsibility to ensure you comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws when using Local Transcriber. Always obtain explicit consent from all participants before recording any call or conversation.

Local Transcriber is a neutral recording tool. The user is entirely responsible for legal compliance.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Local Transcriber to:

• Record conversations without consent (where required by law)
• Violate anyone's privacy or intellectual property rights
• Harass, threaten, or harm others
• Break any laws or regulations

Data Ownership

You own all transcripts and files created with Local Transcriber. We make no claim to your data. You are free to use, edit, delete, or share your transcripts as you see fit.

Website Analytics

This website (localtranscriber.com) uses Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited, time on site, and referral sources. This data helps us improve the website and understand how visitors find us.

The app does not collect any analytics data. Google Analytics is used on the website only, not within Local Transcriber itself. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Support & Updates

Support is provided at our discretion via email. We aim to respond to support requests within 48 hours.

Updates may be released periodically. You are not obligated to update, but we recommend keeping the app current for security and performance improvements.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via release notes or email. Your continued use of Local Transcriber after changes implies acceptance of the new terms.
